Today we will be talking about hanging cat scratchers. Although it may annoy you, it is natural for your cat or kitten to want to scratch things. This is how cats sharpen and trim their nails. A cat's claws are on of its most important features, or at least this was the case when they lived in the wild. Cats use their claws for climbing, hunting and defending themselves. It is instinct that drives them to keep their claws sharp as razors, this is why, it seems that your cat is constantly scratching. For new cat owners, one of the first things that they will want to do is by several cat scratchers. There is very good reason for this, without these scratching posts, your cat may very well decide to use your furniture as their own personal nail file. It may surprise you, but those little claws can do big damage to finished wood and other furnishings. If you want to keep your cat happy and avoid having to spend thousands on new furniture every year, I would recommend that you pick up a few scratching posts as soon as possible. When shopping for cat scratchers, their seems to be quite a variety to choose from. They come in many shapes and sizes. One of the most effective scratching posts that I have come across is the hanging cat scratcher. The reason why, I personally, believe that they work so well is that they are positioned in a way that mimics what your cat would be scratching in the wild. Hanging cat scratchers are hung on a wall, low enough so that your cat can reach. For the most part, cats like to scratch objects that are positioned vertically. Perhaps this is because one of the most convenient things to scratch in the outdoors would be a tree. Although, this type of scratching post is still fairly new, you can still find a great deal of them, especially if you are shopping online. I find that shopping online for my cat supplies is much easier and provides me with much more of a selection as well as a way to easily compare prices. This also holds true with hanging cat scratchers. I have recently purchased three of these unique scratching posts and my cats seem to love them. There are even cat scratchers that can be built right into cat furniture. I was having trouble getting my kitties to use the scratchers that I had previously bought. It seems that it is true that cats really do prefer a hanging cat scratcher to any other type. I have placed them in several places around my house and this keeps my pets away from valuable furniture. I have one of these hanging in the bathroom, near their litter box, one in the living room along side my couch and one in the kitchen. As I said before, the hanging cat scratcher works great and my cats love it. If you don't already have one, I highly recommend trying one out.

Mimi Cat Litter

This is a review of a new cat litter called Mimi cat litter made with Silica. I am going to break a lot of rules here and tell you just how I feel about this cat litter before I begin my ramble. OK, this stuff is amazing, I tried it out last week and it works great. For those of you who don't know, Mimi cat litter with Silica is supposed to be the most odor absorbing cat litter on the market. So far, it seems to be the best that I have ever used, and I have tried out several different types of litters, believe me.

If you are wondering exactly what Silica is and why they have used it in cat litter, then you are in the same boat that I was in, at least before I did a little research. After all, I love my kitties and would only use a product, no matter how effective it was, if it was absolutely 100% safe. OK, so without getting too technical, let me explain exactly what Silica is. Have you ever opened up a package of imported food, usually meat and found a little packet inside, a packet filled with what felt like little pebbles. These small packets are also found in shoe boxes. Those little packets are filled with Silica. You may not know it, but Silica is found in many places that you wouldn't even think of. Mimi cat litter with Silica works so well because Silica is made to keep things fresh. This may not sound like it would work in a cat litter box, I mean, do you really want to keep your cat's droppings fresh? Well, this stuff works in two ways. It absorbs moisture and that helps to keep food fresh and clothing and shoes mildew free. It also absorbs the odors that float in the air because of moisture. Silica absorbs the moisture and there for absorbs the odor.

Now that you know what Mimi cat litter is made of, let's talk price. The average bag of cat litter, the kind that actually works, costs anywhere from $8 to $10. Personally, I've always used Fresh Step cat litter. It seemed to be the only litter that actually worked when it came to absorbing cat box odors, until Mimi cat litter that is. A bag of Mimi cat litter only costs $4, that is less than half the price than other equivalent litters. Not only is it considerably cheaper than most cat litters but it seems to be working just as well, if not better than Fresh Step. I have only been using this litter for a little over a week but by now my babies have produced quite a number of “gifts” and my bathroom, where I keep the litter box, has never smelled so fresh. I am absolutely amazed. This just goes to show you that you can not always judge quality by price. If I had I would never have come across this amazing new cat litter.

No I am not a spokesperson for Mimi cat litter, although I do love it, I just thought that I would share my experience with all of you. This cat litter could easily be overlooked because of the fact that it is new, hasn't gotten much exposure and is priced extremely low. In fact the only reason that I even tried this new cat litter was that I overheard two women in the pet supply aisle talking about how great it was. I figured I would give it a shot and I am certainly glad that I did.

Is there anything that I don't like about Mimi cat litter? Well, I guess I would have to say that the only problem with this amazing new litter is that it is only sold at Walmart. This shouldn't be too much of a problem as it seems that new Walmarts are sprouting up all over the country. Aside from that, there is nothing that I have found wrong with this litter. Everything from safety issues to price and effectiveness have all panned out well. I hope that Walmart continues to carry this new brand of cat litter because I think I'm in love.

Lately, here at the Cute Kitten Fan, we have writing a large amount of informative articles. This was done to give the site a little substance. In order to keep things on the lighter side, today we will be talking about the tea cup kitten, as well as looking at some cute teacup kitten videos.

One of my favorite features of this particular litter scoop is that it has a stainless steel scraping edge. This is a big help when you are trying to thoroughly clean out the cat box. All in all, this is a great litter scoop and I would highly recommend it. So whats the drawback? I hope you are all sitting down... If you would like to purchase the ScoopWell Litter Scoop, you are going to have to spend about $20 on it. Yep, it is pretty expensive. When you consider how much money you have wasted on flimsy litter scoops that have broken within a few weeks, it might actually save you money to buy one that is well built.

If you are looking for a long handle litter scoop, you may want to consider Cat Claws Giant 20" Litter Scoop. This litter scoop allows you to clean out your cat's litter box without having to kneel down. Whether you have trouble getting down that low or you just don't like getting close to dirty cat litter, this litter scoop can help you. The Cat Claws Giant 20" Litter Scoop, is completely made of metal, it is easy to clean and very durable. The handle is coated with rubber for a slip free grip. The only thing that I can find wrong with this litter scoop is that there is no side barrier, that can very easily cause a big mess. Looking for a fully stainless steel cat litter scoop? There are many benefits from using these types of cat litter scoops. The most obvious is that they are very durable and easily cleaned. If you are looking for a good stainless steel cat litter scoop, you should look into Ethical's Long Handle Stainless Steel Cat Litter Box Scoop. Now, it is called a long handle litter scoop but in fact the handle is only eight inches long. This is about the length of a regular litter scoop. Today I would like to discuss special kitty cat food. I am not only going to go over why you should never buy this particular brand of cat food and why it is very important to not by you pet's food solely based on price. I will also explain, exactly why, certain pet foods can lead to health problems with your cat.

It may be hard for many of you out there to spend more money on cat food. Not everyone was born with a silver spoon in their mouths and it can be hard enough to properly feed your family, let alone your cats. What it really boils down to is, are you really willing to risk future health problems with your cat just to save a few dollars every week on cat food. Cat foods, like special kitty cat food, are filled with fillers. These fillers have absolutely no nutritional value. What does this mean? It means that your cat's stomach is filling up with garbage and they are not getting all of the nutrition that they need. If that weren't bad enough, fillers can also cause certain health problems.

You may notice that your cat produces more bowel movements or that their feces has a more pungent odor when they are being fed cheaper pet food.
