Repeat this exercise many, many times. As your puppy gets the pint, increase the distance between the two of you. Then also change the reward around a little. Offer a treat only occasionally, and offer praise the other times.

As with many things in dog training, consistency is the key with this command. Ideally you should repeat the exercises in short training sessions every day.

This will help the "recall process" in your pet which can help make the training easier and better. They'll be able to remember the commands and the things they have to do if you are consistent.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On September 26th, SPCA International (www.spcai.org) announced it is setting a lofty goal with Spay Panama on World Animal Day - September 30th - to spay and neuter 1,000 dogs and cats in La Chorrera, Panama.

The 4-day campaign is aimed at stopping the unnecessary deaths of both pets and unwanted animals in Panama. Spay Panama was founded in 2001 and thanks to the support of SPCA International, the group hopes to achieve the goal of reaching so many animals in a condensed time period.

The plight of female dogs in Panama is a life of trying to survive bearing litter and litter. Often malnourished, these female animals lose most of their litters due to the dangers of the streets such as no food, passing cars and trucks.

According to animal experts with Spay Panama, male dogs that are not neutered often run wild in the streets trying to mate and too often get hit by cars. Un-altered male and female cats also become regular victims of violence due to their loud and bothersome "cat calls" during heat that can last for days at a time.

All of these issues stem from a lack of spay and neuter. The cycle is only perpetuated because the overpopulation of animals causes citizens to harbor ill-will against the helpless dogs and cats, leading to more animal abuse, more senseless death, and little interest in the one true and lasting solution - spay and neuter.

In our whole lifetime, we have had water dogs as pets. They swim alongside with us or come along with us on the boat or our tiny fishing boat. These dogs of ours are bona fide swimmers. You can easily reach the lake on foot because the distance is not that far away and we live there. Usually when the weather is hot, which occurs mostly during July and August, we bring the dogs to the lake for a swim. Aside from the pleasure that we get from it, we are able to keep our bodies fit while doing it under the heat of the day. As a young boy, my son loved to ride on the raft and paddle his way in the lake. What's interesting is that Poppy, our blond Lab, also wants to ride along with him. She looked after him and they spend the whole day in recreation.

Six people could sleep in our boat during that time. It was awesome! The boat was almost our home. Also it was common to be awaken in the early hours of the morning by a small boat with its motor roaring, as they dock beside ours. It would be my mom and my dad. What I most liked about it was that they always brought us something to eat for breakfast.My mother made the most incredible biscuits and stuffed them with ham or bacon, eggs and cheese. Sitting in the boat with the company of loved ones and eating an appetizing meal while watching the sun ascends - it doesn't get any better than this!

There was this very miniscule dog that my parents had. She wasn't a swimmer therefore my parents made her wear a life vest at all times.She didn't like the water much, but like all dogs enjoyed outings with the family.Just as it is important for humans to wear life vests, it is the same with our canine members of the family.

The Canada goose prefers marshes and areas near grass and grain fields and areas located near water. During the seasons of spring and summer, Canadian Geese primarily feed on grass, decaying cabbage leaves, eelgrass and marshy plants.
